An angled glass cooker hood offers a practical alternative to the traditional horizontal canopy hood. Why choose an angled cooker hood?
The main advantage is the inclined shape. A conventional chimney hood projects forwards over the hob, whereas an angled extractor slopes back towards the wall. This can make the cooking area feel more open and is particularly useful if you prefer greater headroom above the front of the hob.
The design also works well in modern kitchens where the cooker hood is intended to be a visible part of the room rather than concealed within cabinetry.
Powerful extraction when cooking demands it
The ViandPro Forte range provides three normal extraction speeds together with an intensive setting for periods when additional extraction is required. Maximum extraction reaches approximately 604 m³/h in intensive mode, with normal maximum extraction of approximately 484 m³/h.
Touch controls and an LED display provide straightforward operation from the front of the hood. Metal grease filter cassettes help capture airborne grease and can be removed for routine cleaning. The Forte also combines white LED cooking lights with separate colour-changing mood lighting, allowing the decorative lighting to be used independently.
60cm or 90cm angled cooker hood?
Choosing the correct width starts with the hob below it. As a general rule, a cooker hood should be at least as wide as the hob wherever the installation allows. A 60cm hood is therefore a natural choice above many standard 60cm hobs, while the 90cm Forte provides a wider extraction area for larger hobs and kitchens with sufficient wall space.
Always check the exact dimensions of both the hood and hob before ordering, together with the manufacturer's required installation height.
Ducted or recirculating installation
Forte angled glass hoods can be installed for either ducted extraction or recirculation. With a ducted installation, extracted air is carried outside through ducting. The Forte uses a 150mm duct connection, so planning a suitable route with as few unnecessary restrictions as possible will help the extractor operate effectively.
If external ducting is not practical, the hood can instead be configured for recirculation using the appropriate recirculation filter kit. Air is filtered before being returned to the kitchen rather than discharged outside.
